Update - it looks like Docker reversed their decision. I think this is
still worth pursuing, though I don't have the bandwidth to take this on.

is a good opportunity for few projects. Most probably being part of the
Foundation increases our chances to get this accepted.
Also, this protect us in the scenario where Github decides to change their
registry pricing model as well.
